Privacy policy

1 · What BitRep keeps on your device

Everything you log is written to a single document in the app's private storage on your phone: your sessions and sets, your plan and schedule, personal records and achievements, your creature and its stage, any notes you add, and your preferences. This document is not readable by other apps. If you delete BitRep, iOS deletes it with the app.

2 · What leaves your device

Only what a feature you switched on requires:

• An account. If you create one — with an email address, Sign in with Apple, or Google — we store your email address, an account identifier, and a backup copy of your training document so it can be restored and kept in step across your devices. Sign in with Apple's private relay is supported; if you use it, we only ever see the relay address.
• BitRep Pro. Purchases are handled by Apple. We receive a validated receipt telling us whether your subscription is active. We never see your card or billing address.
• Support. If you email us, we have your message and your address until the matter is closed.
• Crash and error reports. Diagnostic reports you choose to share through Apple's own tools, which are not linked to your identity by us.

Without an account, BitRep sends us nothing. The app works fully offline.

3 · Health data

If you grant permission, BitRep reads step count, body mass and resting heart rate from Apple Health to show them alongside your training, and can write completed workouts back to Health. Health data is used only inside the app, for the features you can see. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties. You can withdraw access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health, and BitRep keeps working without it.

4 · Location

Location is used for one thing: recording the route of an outdoor session you started. It is collected only while that session is running, stored in your training document on your device, and shown to nobody else. There is no background tracking and no location-based advertising.

5 · Notifications

Rest-timer alerts are local notifications scheduled on your device. BitRep asks for permission the first time you run a rest timer, not at launch, and declining costs you nothing but the alert.

6 · What we do not do

• No advertising SDKs, no ad identifiers, no cross-app or cross-site tracking.
• No selling or renting of your data, ever, including anonymised training data.
• No third-party behavioural analytics profiles built from your workouts.
• No data broker relationships.

7 · Your controls

• Export. Settings → Export writes your whole history to a file you keep.
• Delete your account. Settings → Account → Delete account removes the server copy and your email address, then clears the credentials on your device. If the deletion fails, the app tells you and does not pretend otherwise.
• Delete everything locally. Deleting the app removes the on-device document.
• Access and correction. Write to us and we will confirm what is held against your account and correct or delete it.

8 · Retention, children, changes

Account data is kept while your account exists and deleted when you delete it. BitRep is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold their data. If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the app will tell you before the change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will move.

9 · Website waitlist

If you join the waitlist on bitrep.app, we collect your email address. It is stored with Kit, the email service we use, and we use it only to tell you about early access and launch. We don't sell it or share it with anyone else. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at hello@bitrep.app.

10 · Website storage

The BitRun game and the spin wheel on bitrep.app save two things in your browser so they are there next time: your best run in the game and the companion you picked. They stay on your device and are never sent to us or anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data for bitrep.app removes them.
